A full year after Willie started his PPL training with us, he was able to test for the licence.

It is a real drag when work interferes with ones hobby Willie, we know.

You stuck with it however and we are very proud of your tenacity.

Now the fun begins and we wish you many happy, safe landings.

Our Safety Seminar on Wednesday, the 1st September 2010 will start off at 5pm with a lecture on Airside Induction by Mr Andre van Rooyen, the Aviation Fire Chief of Wonderboom Airport. Anyone who wants to have access to any part of the Airport, be it the apron or the fuel bay will have to undergo Airside Induction Training. The purpose of the training is of course Safety Awareness and each and every one of us should be present.

At 7pm our main speaker of the evening, Ms Hannelie Oosthuizen, an Accident Investigator at SACAA will inform us on Accident Investigation Conclusions and how a better approach to Flight Safety could have prevented a number of accidents.

We will have boerewors-rolls and a beer or Coke available for only R10!

We pride ourselves on giving our best effort to produce safe pilots. You attendance of our Seminars is proof that we are succeeding. Or not.

As Johan Lottering so eloquently states in his book: “Avoiding Fatal Flying Traps” -

“The safe pilot is still ridiculed as ’scared’, a ’spoil sport’ or ‘not up to it’. On ground level a ‘modal change’ in thinking and the approach to air safety is direly needed. IT NEEDS TO BECOME ‘FASHIONABLE’ TO BE SAFE.”

Give up one evening of lazing on the couch in front of the TV and take the trouble to come and listen to some words of wisdom that may very well one day save your life!

Competition valid from 15 August until 15 November 2010.
To receive the jacket, one must formally enrol for the PPL course at Pretoria Flying School. An intro flight does not constitute enrolment.
Enrolment constitutes payment of the enrolment deposit of R15,000.
The complete PPL Kit must be purchased upon enrolment and not only parts of the Kit.
The style of the jacket may change based on availability.
The jacket may not be redeemed for cash or discount on the PPL Kit or on the cost of enrolment.

Recipient must be in possession of a valid Private Pilot’s Licence or higher licence.
Applicable to hire&fly and renewal preparation flights where an instructor is not required. Not redeemable on any training flights.
Only valid on C172 aircraft.
Discount only valid on the first hour of flight, irrespective of flight length.
Maximum of 5 cards will be issued per person.
Draw will take place on 20 November 2010.
Prize is not redeemable for cash.
Judges decision is final and no correspondence may be entered into.
Employees, employees’ immediate family members and contractors of Pretoria Flying School amy not enter the competition.
